I have never tried it without sour cream and like you I do NOT like sour cream and can't taste it at all.

Are these frozen hashbrowns or frozen hashbrowns,thawed before making the recipe?

Robin, I do not like sour cream either!! I still make it with sour cream because you can’t taste it at all! I am not sure about substitutions…maybe you could google sour cream substitutions and find something? I’d still give it a try. You won’t be sorry!

Maren, just mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl and then pour in to a casserole dish! Enjoy!

Hi, I have a question for you.
What would you suggest I mix it in? Should it be heated in a pot at all before tranferring it to the casserole dish, or should I just mix it in a big bowl or something?

Margaret, I have never added anything to this dish like sausage or ham…that is a good idea though! I bet you could just add some to the original recipe and it would turn out great!

This is one of those recipes that I thought everyone knew of! We've had this at holiday meals my entire life and I don't know what I'd do without it! I'm like you, I could eat the ENTIRE dish. So yummy!
