Halloween Pancakes, Anyone?

October 9, 2008

These are SO cute!  Williams-Sonoma has come up with molds to make Halloween Pancakes!

Here are a couple of the reviews from people that have purchased the product:

“We got these this week. My stepson really had fun eating his skully pancakes this morning. he helped create different faces so each pancake was different.
They are so cute and easy to use. Here are some tips:
1. Spray the mold with nonstick spray before resting it on your hot griddle/pan.
2. Allow the mold to heat up a bit before adding the batter.
3. Thin your batter a bit for easy pouring and distribution.
4. Don’t fill the mold to the very top; leave room for the pancakes to rise. I use a fluffy buttermilk pancake recipe, and if I fill to much, the batter overflows as it rises and makes removal difficult.
5. Make sure the batter is very, very set before attempting to remove it.
6. When removing the mold, slide it up slowly; use the back of a spoon if you need to to gently push the pancake don as you pull the mold up.”

“My son loves these molds. I make pancakes every weekend for him and these make breadfast even more fun. Just make sure you spray them with cooking spray before you use them. I learned the hard way. You can even add chocolate chips or sprinkes. My son likes to make different faces :o )
