Neti Pots…Do They Really Work?!

January 16, 2008

YES!!!

I’ll be the first one to tell you that I thought this was a crazy idea. My mom called me and raved about how great these things are and I basically let it go in one ear and out the other (don’t tell her I said that!)…..until I woke up one morning all stopped up and couldn’t breath. So, I put Google to work and typed in Neti Pot to see what I could find out. Weird I thought. You put a thing that looks like a genie lamp up your nose, pour the solution (basically salt water) in one nostril and it comes out the other and you’re cleared right up and can breath again. It seemed too good to be true, so I thought I’d give it a chance since they’re only about $10. I figured it wouldn’t work (since things that tend to be too good to be true usually are) and I’d only be out 10 bucks.

So, a few days go by and it finally comes in the mail (all the while I can barely breath after trying everything under the sun). So I take my Neti Pot out of the box (I actually bought a Rhino Horn because I found one Ebay really cheap). I will admit, at first it is a very strange sensation. You can really feel the water going all up in your sinuses….and then it starts dripping out the other nostril. But it really does work! After pouring the solution in each nostril I could breath again!

So, if you can’t breath and you’re at your wits end, get a Neti Pot!

How to use a Neti Pot (It’s a corny video, but it was helpful to me : )

Oh my word, that is too funny! We may just have to get one of those. I have never heard of it, but if it works, I’m all for it! Putting all that other stuff in our bodies doesn’t work anyway! :) Now whether Andrew will let me do that to him or not is another story….we will see. :)
